Easter, and nowhere to go

Easter's coming up, and I still have nothing planned. While I'm happy to just stay put, I can't help but feel a little bit guilty. Its not often that we get free long weekends! The more I try to look for places to go to though, the more frustrating it gets. Nothing seems interesting within a 3 hour drive radius.

I say this with great respect to Sydney. Its not her, its me.

From a photographic point of view, I just don't see anything new or interesting anymore. Unless maybe if I drag myself early in the morning to witness the sunrise.

The main reason I like to go out (this time at least) is to take pictures. Yes, just to take pictures. I'm finding beaches and rainforests a bit wearisome, which incredibly limits my options. How could I have become tired of Sydney (and surrounds) so easily?

This is where I will start to complain. I really wish people would make it more affordable to travel within Australia, like they do almost anywhere else. They complain about Aussies preferring to travel overseas rather than domestic, but surely they can't blame them. Going to Perth from Sydney is almost as expensive as going to Fiji. Perth, Fiji…err, take me to the Pacific Islands anytime, thank you very much.

Don't get me wrong. I think Australia is a beautiful country. I just wish they'd make it easier for me to see the rest of it.
